Abstract:
Education has reached a critical moment: While AI offers enormous promise, its use is still often fragmented. In this keynote, Thomas draws on four studies to outline a clear and coherent way forward. He begins by presenting human-AI collaboration as a core principle, reframing AI as a partner rather than simply a tool for automation. He then highlights responsible digital citizenship as a second pillar, emphasizing the need to embed AI ethics across disciplines. Next, he defines the AI literacy competencies required for both students and educators. Finally, he integrates these strands into the human-centric pedagogy (HCAP) framework, offering educators a practical guide for pedagogical design. The talk argues that by connecting ethics, literacy, and collaborative pedagogy, we can move beyond scattered uses of AI and build a more responsible and transformative future for learning.
