About Us
The Special Interest Group (SIG) on Technology Enhanced Learning for Mobility of Learners and Learning Experiences (TEML) within the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education (APSCE) (formerly known as Classroom, Ubiquitous, and Mobile Technology Enhanced Learning (CUMTEL)), strives to establish a collaborative platform for researchers to share scholarly interests and professional insights regarding the utilization of cutting-edge technologies. This includes ubiquitous learning, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), metaverse, mobile technologies, wireless technology, and cloud computing technologies.
Our focus extends to both formal learning settings, such as schools and universities, and informal learning environments like outdoor settings, museums, field trips, clubs, etc. Emphasizing the integration of emerging mobile technologies, coupled with the advancements in artificial intelligence and generative AI, we explore their impact on learning experiences in diverse settings. Our aim is to foster a comprehensive understanding of the role of mobile and ubiquitous technology in enhancing education, encompassing both traditional educational institutions and informal learning contexts.
TEML has initiated a new line of educational research that highlights both pedagogical and technological innovation in order to support and amalgamate contemporary pedagogical design for individual and collaborative learning with mobile, contextualized, ubiquitous and AI-powered technologies. This SIG will expose the results of current research efforts in this field as well as future challenges in terms of pedagogies and technologies, as well as socio-technological aspects such as scalability, policies, privacy and security, teachers’ professional development.
The scope of TEML covers but is not limited to:

  • Theoretical aspects of technology enhanced mobility of learning experiences and mobility of learners
  • Ubiquitous, virtual reality, augmented reality, mobile technologies, wireless technology, and cloud computing technologies for learning
