Abstract
Digital platforms where communities of learners create and consume information are a rich resource from which insights can inform pedagogical reforms. In this talk, I will briefly discuss Internet ethnography as applied in educational settings by dissecting selected works in the Asia-Pacific context. By examining the motivations and justifications of prior research using this methodology, I highlight its strength in portraying sociocultural norms and practices in digital spaces where learners interact. I conclude my talk by sharing my experiences, techniques, and strategies in using Internet ethnography from past and present research projects.
